Portman Doe is the nom de plume of a housewife on Canada’s West Coast.
Ms. Doe lives with Kit, her businesslady wife. Kit brings home the bacon, and Portman cooks it. Their queer revival of a stereotypical 1950’s division of labour wasn’t exactly what they intended when they set out together, but it’s working out really well.
This blog is about queer housewifery. You’re probably asking yourself, “what makes housewifery queer?” The answer is a lot of Cagney & Lacey as part of foreplay, but that won’t be covered in this blog. Instead, Portman will include posts about sewing, cooking, DIY, feminism, politics, gay shiz, and television. (None of which are mutually exclusive.)
